Lindsey Gent, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Lindsey Gent was raised in Abingdon, a small town located in southwest Virginia. She was fortunate to grow up working in veterinary medicine alongside her dad, who is also a small animal veterinarian. Her love for helping animals and their people prompted her to become a veterinarian. Dr. Gent attended undergraduate school at Virginia Tech where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal and Poultry Sciences. She then pursued a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!). Dr. Gent and her fiancé, Noah, live in Summerville with their two senior pups, Marley and Hokie. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with Noah and their furbabies, cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs, and going to the beach. Dr. Gent’s professional interests include senior and geriatric pet care as well as soft tissue surgery, preventative care, and internal medicine.

Lauren Amey

Practice Manager and Licensed Veterinary Technician

Lauren has been working in the veterinary field for over 15 years now. She has always had a love for animals and originally wanted to become a Veterinarian; however, plans changed and she went down the veterinary technician route and enjoys every minute of it. Recently, she has come to enjoy handling and working with pocket pets and reptiles, they are slowly gaining a special place in her heart. Lauren has 5 pets: 2 dogs-Athena and Khaleesi and 3 cats- Domino, Toro and Little man. She enjoys spending her time off with her husband and son who is growing like a weed!

Lacey Anderson

Lead Licensed Veterinary Technician

Lacey grew up in southwest Virginia but moved to the Charleston area in 2013 with her husband Derek. Together they share a home with their 2 sons, Jase and Luke, and 4 dogs. They have two Dalmatians, Pongo and Marshall, a Min Pin, Prancer, and a Schnazuer, Clarice. Lacey attended Trident Technical College, where she graduated with honors from the Veterinary Technology Program in 2022. She also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and is a Certified Pet Stylist.

Jessica Marhefka

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Jessica is originally from Freehold, New Jersey, and has grown up passionate about helping and working with animals. She has worked in the industry since 2017 and graduated from the Trident Technical College Veterinary Technician Program Spring 2023, becoming a Licensed Veterinary Technician. When she is not out being a hero to all animals, she enjoys any outdoor activities (hiking, kayaking, etc.) and spending time with her Husband, Joe. She enjoys being the best dog mom to her two pups Callie Rae and Lulu.

Hannah Thepaut

Veterinary Assistant

Hannah Thepaut is from Marietta, Ohio and attended Coastal Carolina University, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Political Science. When she isn’t at Foxbank, you can find her involved in anything and everything related to animals. Hannah has four dogs (2 pit bulls, a golden, and a Carolina Dog) and three cats.

Dr. Lydia Hoover,

DVM
Dr. Lydia Hoover grew up in a small town in southern central Pennsylvania. From a young age, she knew she wanted to work with animals. Dr. Hoover earned her undergraduate degree from The Pennsylvania State University in 2018 and completed her veterinary studies at the Royal Veterinary College, in London, England in 2022. Upon finishing her studies, Dr. Hoover worked extensively with horses at Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. After a short stint at Purdue’s large animal hospital, Dr. Hoover made the change to small animal general practice. Dr. Hoover thoroughly enjoys feline medicine, reduced anxiety veterinary care, and orthopedics. Outside of work, Dr. Hoover likes to spend time with her two cats, Toast and Waffles, reading a good book, and cheering on Penn State athletics – We Are! Dr. Hoover is honored to be part the Foxbank family and cannot wait to work alongside you to ensure your furry friend receives high quality, compassionate care.

Maria Uncapher

Veterinary Assistant
Maria grew up in Charleston, SC and met her husband while attending college in 2016. They have recently moved back proceeding her husband’s military retirement. They have a feisty-old cat named Pickles, a young-bold cat named Void and a crazy heeler mix named Sunshine. They have completed their family with a very cheeky son named Mason. On Maria’s time off, she loves going to the beach/pool, hanging out with close friends, or playing games. You can find her reading most day. She enjoys practicing fear free handling methods and advocating for senior animals.

Brooke Caudle

Veterinary Assistant
Brooke grew up in Northern Virginia and moved to Charleston in 2019 after graduating from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences. She has always had a passion for caring for animals and helping them feel safe and comfortable. She began working in veterinary medicine while earning her degree and continued because of her passion. Brooke has over 10 years of experience and continues to grow in the field, always eager to learn, take on new challenges, and support both her patients and her team. She has a special love for cats and is dedicated to reducing their stress in the clinic, as she has two of her own, Autumn and Lydia. Outside of work, she enjoys serving at her church, making custom cakes, line dancing, and exploring a variety of creative hobbies. “I can’t wait to help your fur babies feel at home, here at Foxbank Veterinary Hospital!”

Heather Winningham

Veterinary Assistant
Heather is originally from Portland Maine, however she grew up here in the Lowcountry! When she is not at Foxbank, you can catch her with her precious little girl Mia. Heather enjoys spending time with her family, crafting and all things Disney. In fact she even collects Disney Pins. She currently has 3,000 and counting. Heather has a special love for Dalmatians and Spaniels!

McKenzie Nailling

Client Service Representative
McKenzie is originally from Eastern KY, and her Southern Roots run deep. She has a heart to serve, whether it is our clients in our office or serving coffee in the local church on Sunday. When you don’t find her at Foxbank she is probably soaking up the Smoky Mountain Air. McKenzie never meets a stranger and can not wait to meet you!

Kerstin Spires

Client Service Representative
Kerstin is originally from a small town called Pelion SC. I have been in the veterinary field for 8 years and have loved every second of it. In her free time, you will find her enjoying time with her wife Taylor and their fur babies. She also enjoys spending time at the beach, anything outdoors and with family and friends.
